Our success is measured not in monetary terms, but in people terms.
Happiness, fulfilment and positive contributions to society - lives transformed, families re-built, futures secured.
It is not enough for us to provide a safe, stable place to live. We have to back this up with support, mentorship, training and the development of the individual so that, one day, they will forge their own way in the world - get married, have families of their own, hold down jobs, have their own homes.
Success means different things to different people. For some of our residents, a success story is to abstain permanently for drugs. For others, learning to live within society, make a contribution and avoid criminal behaviour is the goal. For still others, finding some peace within a world full of confusion is a singular goal.
There are many reasons that our residents come to us. Some have been caught in cycles of criminal behaviour, others have found themselves involved in prostitution or drugs, with seemingly no escape. Others are very young people, whose family circumstances have rendered them homeless and vulnerable.
There are so many stories. Each is as unique as the individual. But there is one goal. Finding the path (and there always is one!) to a positive, happy life. |
